ROGER MIMS

Good News! After 10 years on dialysis and many setbacks, Roger finally received his kidney on November 23, 2019...just in time for Thanksgiving! He is doing well and enjoying a dialysis-free life.

Hello,

My name is Roger Mims. I’m 38 years old, and I live in Tennessee. I have a hereditary, incurable, usually fatal disease called Polycystic Kidney Disease. In April of 2008, I was suddenly hospitalized and placed on dialysis. Following that, I was able to avoid dialysis for a year by following proper dietary restrictions. However, I now must rely on dialysis to live--5 hours a day, 3 times a week. Although I had made my living since high school as a diesel mechanic, I can no longer perform the tasks of my job.

None of my family members is eligible to donate a kidney to me. Please find it in your heart to help me find a donor by sharing my story and information. If you are interested in being a potential donor, please contact my coordinator listed below. I am on the waiting list for a transplant and am registered at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. I have Type O blood. My family and I thank you and appreciate your every effort no matter how small. Thank you!

Sincerely,

Roger Mims
